Indianapolis Event Photographer | Ugadi – Indian Hindu New Year Celebration and Birthday Party!

Photographing weddings and other significant events has allowed me to share and participate in so many wonderful celebrations and traditions from all over the world.  A few weeks ago, I photographed a 9th birthday party that also was a celebration of Ugadi – the Hindu New Year, and Indian celebration – complete with the most amazing food from Aruna’s Kitchen and Mehndi application of henna by Anju of Menhindi Time.

Every detail of the party was so thoughtfully planned out – even the clothing worn by those in attendance had been brought from India especially for the guests.   There was Bollywood Dance lessons for all of the children and ladies, the sharing of blessings for a happy and healthy year, and the chance to really step inside of a completely different world for an evening…
